Jr. Account Manager
Position Overview
The Junior Account Manager plays a critical execution and relationship management role within the agency. Working under the guidance of the Director, Strategic Accounts, this position owns the day-to-day management of assigned client accounts while ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time, and in alignment with approved strategies and scopes.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, client-focused, and eager to grow into a senior strategic role. You’ll be hands-on in coordinating projects, managing communication, executing marketing initiatives, and ensuring clients feel supported, informed, and confident in the work being delivered.
While the Director Strategic Accounts leads overall strategy and account direction, the Junior Account Manager is responsible for the consistent execution, communication, and operational excellence that keeps accounts running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Client Account Ownership & Support
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned client accounts, with oversight from supervisor.
- Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication, responsiveness, and reliability.
- Maintain regular client touchpoints, including status updates, deliverable coordination, and follow-ups.
- Ensure client requests are clearly scoped, documented, and routed to internal teams appropriately.
- Manage the execution of client projects and campaigns once strategy and scope are defined.
- Coordinate internal resources (design, content, digital, development, etc.) to ensure timely delivery.
- Track timelines, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Ensure all work aligns with approved scopes of work and agency SOPs.
- Support the Strategic Accounts Team in executing marketing and communications strategies.
- Translate strategy into actionable tasks and execution plans.
- Assist in research, competitive analysis, and campaign preparation as needed.
- Execute marketing initiatives directly where appropriate (email, content, social, campaign setup, etc.).
- Prepare and distribute performance reports for clients on a regular cadence.
- Monitor campaign results and flag insights, trends, or concerns to the Strategic Accounts Team.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and clearly communicates results and next steps.
- Maintain CRM records, project notes, and performance documentation in HubSpot, Teamwork and report that to your supervisor.
- Maintain strong understanding of client scopes of work and ensure adherence.
- Flag scope creep or misalignment early and escalate as needed.
- Follow agency SOPs to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality control.
- Support invoicing, resourcing, and project tracking as required.
- Work confidently within the agency’s core tech stack (HubSpot, Tymbrel, various client CMS platforms, Teamwork, analytics tools, etc.).
- Maintain working knowledge of client technology platforms.
- Support campaign setup, tracking, and optimization across tools.
- Identify opportunities for process or platform improvements and surface them to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve client performance or expand engagement.
- Surface ideas for additional services, optimizations, or campaign enhancements.
- Support Strategic Account Managers in developing recommendations and next-step proposals.
- Log all activity, communication, and opportunities in HubSpot and Teamwork.
- Represent the agency professionally in client meetings and communications.
- Participate in internal planning meetings and contribute insights from account activity.
- Support presentations, documentation, and client-facing materials as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in account management, marketing coordination, or agency environments.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing fundamentals (content, SEO, PPC, analytics).
- Experience working with marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar tools.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to grow into a more strategic role.
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent experience.
