Strategic Account Manager
Position Overview
As a Strategic Account Manager, you will play a vital role in researching, designing, developing and deploying client marketing and communications strategies.
You will serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring the timely execution of projects while adhering to defined scopes of work and agency SOPs.
You will also participate in the sales process as necessary and appropriate to define scopes of work and project business cases.
Your expertise in digital marketing, coupled with strong communication and analytical skills, will contribute to building strong client relationships and achieving campaign objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Client Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring exceptional service and support.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business objectives and marketing and communications needs.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates, insights, and recommendations to drive business growth.
- Research and analyze clients, their industries, competitive landscapes, and the best practices of present and future of their types of work.
- Thoughtful and strategic consideration of client data and research results to form foundational strategic recommendations for their marketing and communications.
- Development of marketing and communications strategies in line with client-approved scopes of work, founded on defined business case developed in onboarding.
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute creative, marketing and communications strategies that align with client goals.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects and campaigns, meeting client expectations and deadlines.
- Gain a thorough understanding of project scopes and defined deliverables outlined in the client agreements.
- Adhere to defined scopes of work and project timelines to ensure efficient project management and client satisfaction.
- Utilize agency standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow efficiency and maintain consistency in service delivery.
- Execute marketing and communications initiatives through your own deployment and agency-resourced deployment to drive engagement and conversions.
- Generate comprehensive reports on marketing performance, analyzing results and identifying key insights.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing ongoing and proactive metric and result feedback reporting.
- Make data-driven marketing recommendations based on performance analysis and industry trends to optimize strategies and achieve campaign objectives.
- Keep marketing certifications up to date, including but not limited to HubSpot certifications as assigned by leadership.
- Understand and leverage the agency's tech stack as well as that of our clients to strategically execute marketing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities in new tech stack opportunities for the agency and the client, bring those opportunities to leadership.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing and client management.
- Report key industry trends to agency at large via team communications tools.
- Represent the agency in client meetings, presentations, and events as required, effectively articulating our services and value proposition.
- Proactively identify and explore new opportunities within client accounts to drive relationship growth and expand service offerings.
- Report all of these activities into the agency CRM (HubSpot).
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and strategic recommendations for clients.
- Develop project / campaign estimates for management and client approval.
- Generate and evaluate reports on client and project / campaign profitability for management-level insights.
- Oversight of client support requirements, reporting, and invoicing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (3+ years) in account management or related roles within a marketing agency or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including content marketing, SEO, PPC, and analytics.
- Experience with content creation, SEO optimization, PPC campaign management, and performance reporting.
- Marketing certifications such as HubSpot and Google PPC are highly desirable.
- Technical proficiency and ability to navigate various tech stacks to execute marketing strategies effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
